Delete your WhizzGate account
WhizzGate (by WhizzAct Private Limited) — how to request deletion of your WhizzGate app account and the personal data linked to it, what we delete, what we must keep, and for how long.
Step 1Request deletion of your account
Enter the email address you use to sign in to the WhizzGate app. We will email that address a link to confirm the request — this makes sure only you can ask for your account to be deleted.
Cannot access that email? Write to hello@whizzact.com from any address with your name, mobile number, society and flat number — we will verify your identity before acting.
Section 2Steps
- Enter your WhizzGate account email above and press Email me a confirmation link.
- Open the email from WhizzGate and tap Confirm deletion request (the link expires in 60 minutes).
- On the page that opens, optionally tell us why, and press Delete my account.
- Your request is sent to every society your account belongs to and to WhizzGate's privacy team. Once it is processed, your account is disabled and can no longer sign in.
Your residential society manages your resident record on WhizzGate, so the society's office processes the request through WhizzGate's data-request workflow. If you belong to more than one society, each removes the data it holds; your login account itself is erased once no society still holds you as a member.
Section 3What is deleted
- Your login account — name, email and mobile number are erased and the account is disabled, so it can no longer sign in.
- Your resident profile — name, phone, email, date of birth, gender, profile photo, emergency contact and vehicle numbers.
- Vehicle recognition data — owner details and number-plate photos used for automatic gate entry.
- Records that name you — consent records, move-in/out requests and event RSVPs have your name and contact details removed (the record that consent was given is kept, anonymised).
Section 4What is kept, and for how long
Some records must be kept by law or for the society's security. They are kept with your identifying details removed wherever possible, and only for as long as required:
- Financial records — maintenance bills, payment receipts and the society's books of account. Kept for the statutory accounting period, generally 8 years from the end of the financial year, or longer where the Co-operative Societies Act or the society's bye-laws require.
- Statutory society registers — e.g. the member register, share certificates and nominations. Kept as required by the Co-operative Societies Act and rules; they belong to the society.
- Gate and visitor logs, CCTV footage — kept for the retention period your society has set for security records, then deleted.
- Security audit logs — a tamper-evident record of actions taken in the system, kept for security, fraud prevention and legal claims, with personal fields masked.
- The deletion request itself — kept, without your name, as proof that the request was handled.
Section 5Timeline
Requests are processed within 30 days of confirmation. Residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten in the normal backup cycle.
